Faction is a game mechanic in the game. There are a total of 4 Factions, with Basic being the default, where new units usually go to, and is basically the "uncategorized" pieces. While the faction themselves don't have any effect in game, pieces being categorized in certain factions can be obtained by the corresponding Faction Boxes in Shop.
