The Duelist is a basic Minion. Duelist can retreat and block one attack from a tile ahead of it. Duelist promotes to Fencer. (A normal attack is a 'melee blockable' attack: a black Move or Attack square, a Red Attack only square, or a Samurai autoattack.)

Strength: Duelist[]
Duelist's block can be used to counter more expensive minions and any short ranged champions. Great for attacking pawns, militia, and the like. When it promotes, it also is able to instantly defend itself with a replenished shield (if its old shield was used).
Weakness: Duelist[]
Only being able to attack one square limits the duelist effectiveness against pawns, knights, and bishops. Duelist is very ineffective on defense due to its poor attack.
