The Archer is a basic minion that moves to the upper-right and upper-left adjacent tiles. It has a special attack (Ranged) Destroy Target on the second tile above the unit.

Note: The pictures are outdated, instead, all tiers of the archer cost 1 less morale, the orange tile (magic) are changed to ranged which is the same, but requires line of sight, and the movesets have been tiershifted up:

Basic Archer: costs 0, and it has 1 range diagonally forward move-only, 1 range backward move-only, 2 range diagonally forward move-only from starting position. 2 range forward Ranged-Destroy (opposed to Magic it needs line of sight).

Archer +: costs 1, moving from starting position become move only in general.

Archer++: costs 2, gaining teleports from starting position to the square in front of the range 2 diagonally forward move only (3 squares forward, 2 left and right).

Archer+++: costs 3 teleports become permanent and new teleports are obtained (2 squares forward, 3 left and right) .

To Upgrade from Archer+ to Archer++, you need 5 Archer+ and 100 Dragon Coins.

To Upgrade from Archer++ to Archer+++, you need 5 Archer++ and 500 Dragon Coins.

Strategy: Archer[]

The archer, together with the Ranger, are used to destroy targets safely from a distance without moving. Bringing the archer to last row promotes him to a Ranger.

It attacks forward with a Ranged attack and moves diagonally forward and orthogonally backward. Higher tiers give it more movement.

Strength: Archer[]

The archer's strength relies on creating opportunities to lock aim on low mobility pieces two squares ahead of him. Since he destroys his target without moving, he generally attacks from safety if well defended. Archer works well with freeze, which can come from Frostmage, Comet, or Frostmephit. Freezing the target, then using the archer to target and destroy the piece works especially well with high mobility pieces, such as Dragon, Queen, or Rook. Due to Frostmage's large attack range, the archer's lack of mobility is made up for. The archer can also disrupt opponent setups forcing entropic (minions that can't move backward) enemy minions to move, making them more vulnerable.

Weakness: Archer[]

The archer has low mobility and usually has to make many preparatory moves to be of any use. Furthermore, it only has one space it can attack (range 2), so it is weak to any attacks made on it from anywhere else, and it's 1 range forward blindspot can be exploited by the opponent.
